Jupiter Hotel Embraces the Wild and Free: Portland Style
Portland Oregon has become one of the hottest spots for hemp loving people to travel to see gorgeous scenery and amazing cannabis. Nestled in the heart of Portland is the Jupiter Hotel. A trendy, “party” hotel that is connected to a number of amenities for guests to enjoy including event spaces and the popular “Doug Fir Lounge” which gives guests the opportunity to mingle on a beautiful terrace.
Guests who have stayed at the hotel love the decor included in each room. Rooms include stand out items like shag pillows, posh down comforters, and fun decor such as colorful lamps and artwork . Each room also offer guests ear plugs, stereos with iPhone jacks and of course condoms. There are also a number of reports stating that Jupiter Hotel is a queer friendly establishment which is great news for our LGBT friends.
Jupiter welcomes guests to stay on the grounds while enjoying their stay in Portland. There’s a restaurant on site as well as a bar, and a gallery with abstract paintings commissioned by Alex Carlbon. The gallery draws a number of diverse guests to the hotel while creating a high end experience for everyone involved. Vibrant artistry sets a too cool for school vibe that creates a one of a kind experience.
The Jupiter hotel came into fruition in 2002 after two hopefuls took a chance on a business most people said would flourish because of the area it was in. The seedy old motel they chose to revamp is part of what gives The Jupiter so much character. The location of the hotel draws an eclectic crowd of locals and travelers alike who are all looking for one thing. Connectivity.
The Jupiter also uses their space to give small businesses a place to host events, workshops and seminars. They enjoy giving back to the community and creating an atmosphere that is welcoming and inviting to anyone who needs a space at a reasonable price, or a place to stay after a bit of bad luck. They even allowed refugees from New Orleans to stay on site after being devastated by hurricane Katrina.
The Jupiter Hotel changes every season and continues to evolve as a creative space on a regular basis.
“The Jupiter Hotel was born out of a desire for a place where you could go as a stranger and end up being part of a community, where the underground became the obvious, where you were rewarded for looking a little deeper. The Jupiter changes every season, every year. As owners we continue to evolve alongside our beloved hotel. We hope that when you visit, you too will profit from your time here.”- Kelsey Bunker and Tod Breslau
