31 Grams of Meth, 8 Grams of Marijuana

A traffic stop in western Macon County led to two arrests and the discovery of 31.17 grams of crystallized meth and 7.97 grams of marijuana on Thursday, March 29.

According to the report filed by Deputy Jacob McClard of the Macon County Sheriff’s Department, the officer was on patrol when he made a traffic stop on a 2005 silver Chevy Equinox for having an expired license plate.

Officer McClard identified the female driver as 38-year-old June Marie York and the male passenger as 36-year-old Anthony Martain Driver – both of Louisville, Kentucky.

He also learned that Miss York could not produce a drivers license, proof of insurance or registration, and later discovered she was driving on a revoked license.

Both individuals were removed from the vehicle, and an inventory search was conducted by Deputy McClard and assisting officer, Deputy Josh Meador.

During their search, the officers found drug paraphernalia and 4.77 grams of methamphetamine. Upon speaking with Mr. Driver, they also learned he had hypodermic needles and marijuana on him.

A more thorough search was conducted during the arrest and booking process, at which time several more bags of meth, baggies, a scale, a meth pipe and cash were found by officers.

At the end of their investigation a total of approximately 31.17 grams of meth and 7.97 grams of marijuana were seized by authorities.

June York was charged with driving on a suspended license, financial responsibility violation, registration violation and driving in possession of meth. Her bond was set at $21,500.

Anthony Driver was charged with manufacture/delivery/possession of meth, possession of drug paraphernalia, manufacture of narcotics and possession of a schedule VI drug. His bond is set at $32,200.

Both are scheduled to appear in General Sessions Court on April 25.
